We finally returned to hike the beautiful 20 Lakes Basin again (we’ve been there before, in 2012).
This time it was a really warm and bright sunny day. When we hiked in on the west side of Saddlebag Lake we had the sun in our backs, and I didn’t notice how the small vegetation at this elevation was glowing in bright red, orange and yellow when backlit by the sun. Once I did see it, I could hardly stop making photos because it’s so beautiful – and as a result, constantly had to play catch-up with Alex and Toni, who were well ahead of me. That way I got to include them in some of my photos at least. 🙂
If you’re interested in the hike, Alex has a link to his GPS log that he recorded, in his blog post.
