Last weekend we drove down to Borrego Springs to see how the wildflowers in the desert are doing this year. For weeks, people have been talking about a potential “super bloom” in Anza Borrego Desert State Park, since it was a very wet winter and the last storm at the end of February alone brought up to 1.5 inches (~40mm) of rain to the desert.
We went to “the usual spot” along Henderson Canyon road at first and things were nice, but not quite there yet. The Desert Lilies are doing really well this year it seems, there were a lot of them out already.
The photos below only how what’s at Henderson Canyon Road and near the visitor center (which was really insanely busy, there’s no other word for it), but essentially, the entire valley of Borrego Springs is incredibly green and absolutely gorgeous.
