We spent a week in Sedona in early March, and went for a day-trip to Grand Canyon South Rim (about two hours drive from Sedona).
It was a cold and breezy day – which was quite good actually because it kept haze in the canyon at a minimum. We arrived around noon, walked along the rim trail here and there, and then had an early dinner to be out on the rim trail again for sunset.
