Last weekend we drove down to Borrego Springs to see how the wildflowers in the desert are doing this year. For weeks, people have been talking about a potential “super bloom” in Anza Borrego Desert State Park, since it was a very wet winter and the last storm at the end of February alone brought up to 1.5 inches (~40mm) of rain to the desert.

Besides Clark Dry Lake we also went to Vista Del Malpais during a desert trip early this year. This is a less popular viewpoint of Borrego Badlands that lies a little bit east of the very well known Fonts Point.

We found beautiful displays of wildflowers along Henderson Canyon Road near Borrego Springs in Anza Borrego Desert State Park yesterday. After some attempts at close-ups I mostly used the wide angle lens, and had a lot of fun with it.
