After tropical storm “Kay” had mostly passed through our area, our photo club went to the tide pools at Hospital Point in La Jolla in the early morning of “mid autumn moon” for twilight photos. Here are some impressions.
Seascapes
Blue Hour at Hospital Point
A photo from an evening outing to La Jolla’s Hospital Point. The sunset was rather disappointing, but the mood at the blue hour was nice.
Blue Hour at the Bluffs of Scripps Coastal Preserve
The bluffs of Scripps Coastal Preserve are a small pocket of undeveloped coastal mesa just south and above Black’s Beach (south Torrey Pines State Beach).
Low Tide at Sunset Cliffs
I was hoping to re-create an older photo with flowers that I made at Sunset Cliffs, but the flowers weren’t out yet. It was a rather low tide though and the ocean was very calm. I quite like how the water movement turned out in this 8 second long exposure.
Sunset with Seafoam at Cardiff State Beach (5 photos)
After the heavy rains in January, a lot of foam built up on the coast. We went to South Cardiff State Beach for a walk with our dog Toni and it almost looked like it had snowed at the beach.
Sunset at Moonlight Beach
Moonlight Beach is a beach “pocket” in the coastal cliffs of Encinitas. It’s very busy in summer of course, and it has plenty of features for beach-goers to have a good time! We were there for sunset – subtropical moisture was passing through San Diego and Southern California, bringing some clouds which partially lit up for sunset.
Another Walk at the Beach
A couple enjoys a walk at South Cardiff State Beach, between Solana Beach and Cardiff By The Sea in San Diego County, California. I made this photo during on of the countless walks with our dog Toni at this beach. 🙂
